Seventh Generation, Inc. ("Seventh Generation" or "Sponsor"), 60 Lake Street, Burlington, Vermont 05401. Participation in the Seventh Generation Spheres of Influence Contest (the "Contest") constitutes full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules and Regulations.

Entry Period: The Contest begins at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time ("EST") on July 22, 2008 and shall end as of 11:59 p.m. EST on December 31, 2008 ("Contest Period"). Submissions received
after Contest Period will not be judged. The Winner will be announced on or about February 20, 2009.

Eligibility: The Contest is open only to legal business entities or organizations domiciled in Canada and the United States of America, and natural persons who are legal residents of Canada and the United States of America. Void in the States of Florida and New York and the Province of Quebec, and all other U.S. and all foreign territories and possessions and wherever prohibited or restricted by law. Contest may only be entered from and within eligible jurisdictions. Entrants must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older at time of entry to participate. Employees, officers, directors, and agents of Sponsor, its parent company, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion, and fulfillment agencies, their immediate family members (spouse, parent, sibling, child, and respective spouses) and persons living in their same household, are not eligible to participate in the Contest. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply.

How to Enter: During the Contest Period, each person who submits their entry in the form of text, poems, photographs or videos will be entered to win. All text and poem entries must be no more than seven hundred (700) words. All video entries must be no longer than seven (7) minutes and submitted in one of the following formats: MPEG, AVI, QuickTime. All entries must be submitted either electronically to responsibility@seventhgeneration.com, or mailed to:

One (1) entry per person or household. All entries must contain the entrant’s name, address, and a valid e-mail address. All personal information will be treated in accordance with the Sponsor’s Privacy Policy.

Entry must be the original work of the entrant and must be exclusively owned by the entrant prior to entry. The content of entries may not be offensive or otherwise unsuitable, as determined in Sponsor’s sole discretion, nor can it defame or invade publicity rights or privacy rights of any person, living or deceased, or otherwise infringe upon any person’s personal or proprietary rights. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any entry at any time in the event it is determined that the entrant has not complied with these Official Rules. All entries become property of Seventh Generation, Inc. and will not be acknowledged or returned. By participating in the Contest, entrants grant Sponsor an irrevocable right and license to publish, use, edit, and display any or all of the content in a submission, without further approval, without any limitations, for any and all purposes, including, but not limited to, advertising, marketing, and promotional purposes. No entry will be treated as confidential; please do not submit proprietary or confidential information.

Any attempt at entry except as above stated is void. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any person that submits multiple entries. Any submission of robotic, automatic or programmed entries, or any entries submitted by agencies or other third parties, or through other unapproved methods are void and will be disqualified.

Determination of Winner: One (1) winner ("Contest Winner") will be chosen from eligible entries by a panel of judges, consisting of members of Sponsor’s Corporate Consciousness Department, according to the criteria set forth below, and whose decisions are final and binding in all respects. The judges will base their decisions on the following criteria: inspiration from the 2007 Seventh Generation Annual Report Spheres of Influence, interest in and excitement about regenerative business, creativity, practicality, and pre-development of plan, and the number of systems the idea will influence.

Prize: The Contest Winner will be awarded a one time sum of five thousand U.S. dollars (US$5,000), to be used for the sole purpose of funding the idea presented in the Contest Winner’s entry. If the Contest Winner is unable to comply with these Official Rules and Regulations, an alternate winner may be selected at Sponsor’s sole discretion. The Contest Winner may be required to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and/or liability and publicity release (except where prohibited by law) and provide any additional information that may be required by Sponsor. All federal, state, and local taxes are the sole responsibility of the Contest Winner. Prize is awarded "as is" with no warranty or guarantee, either express or implied by Sponsor. Prize cannot be transferred, substituted, except by Sponsor in its sole discretion. The Contest Winner will be notified by e-mail or first class mail within ten (10) days of the conclusion of the judging. The Contest winner will have five (5) days from notification to accept the prize by e-mail or first class mail to the address specified in the notification. Prize will be delivered within approximately six (6) to eight (8) weeks of verification/confirmation of winners. The name of the Contest Winner will be posted from February 20, 2009 to April 1, 2009 at http://www.seventhgeneration.com.

Winner Requirements: The Contest Winner hereby agrees to provide a short progress report update to Sponsor by December 31, 2009, on the progress of the Contest Winner’s idea as funded by the Contest prize.

General Conditions: By participating in the Contest, entrant agrees to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and Regulations and by the decisions of Sponsor and judges, which will be final and binding on all matters pertaining to this Contest. By participating in this Contest, entrant agrees that under no circumstances, including, but not limited to, negligence, shall Sponsor, its officers, directors, employees, shareholders, agents, successors, and assigns (the “Released Parties”) be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of participation in the Contest, even if the Released Parties have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, therefore such exclusions may not apply to you. Sponsor, its parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion, and fulfillment agencies, and legal advisors, and the respective employees, officers, directors, shareholders, agents, and representatives of each are not responsible and shall not be liable for (i) late, lost, delayed, damaged, misdirected, stolen, incomplete, illegible, unintelligible or postage-due entries, notices, releases, forms, affidavits, or other correspondence; (ii) telephone, electronic, hardware or software program, network, Internet, or computer malfunctions, failures, interruptions or difficulties of any kind; (iii) failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmissions; (iv) any condition caused by events beyond the control of the Sponsor that may cause the Contest to be disrupted; (v) any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising in connection with or as a result from participation in the Contest, including without limitation, personal injury, death, and property damage, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy, to the extent permitted by law; or (vi)any errors in any materials associated with the Contest.

Entry Rights: By submitting an entry, entrant agrees Sponsor shall own the entry submitted (including all rights embodied therein) and that it and its designees may exploit all elements of such entry in any and all media now known or not currently known (including the right to post entry on Sponsor’s web site), without compensation to entrant or any third party and without limitation to time or territory in perpetuity. The Sponsor reserves all rights, including the right to edit, publish, use, adapt, exploit, modify, copy, disseminate, post, or dispose of any Entry, online, in print, film, television, or in any other media for any purpose without compensation or notification to the entrant of any kind, except as prohibited by law.

Disputes: Contest is governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Vermont. As a condition of participation in the Contest, entrant agrees that any and all actions or proceedings related to the Contest shall be brought in the county of Chittenden, State of Vermont (if under state law) or the District of Vermont (if under Federal law), and the parties agree not to raise in connection therewith, and hereby waive, any defenses based upon the venue, the inconvenience of the forum, the lack of personal jurisdiction, the sufficiency of service of process or the like in any such action brought in the State of Vermont.
